I'm so excited to have Peggy Li on Style Envy, as my Designer in the Limelight. I've been a fan of her jewelry designs for years.  I spent some time thinking about how to describe her work and the words that come to mind are; Consistent, Uncompromising, and Stylishly Understated.  Over the years, trends have come and gone and Peggy Li always remains true to her design aesthetic. Her designs are delicate with strength of character.

I am a true believer that less is more. I love the way she takes a single gemstone and showcases it in a simple drop earring or centers it on an open chain necklace. Like a great photograph or painting, Li's design have a focal point.  Each year I include one or two pieces of Peggy Li Jewelry on my holiday wish list. About Peggy Li - For over nine years, Peggy has been creating designer handmade jewelry that has caught the attention of TV's Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, Without a Trace, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and publications such as Oprah Magazine and Lucky. A stark contrast to her beginnings as a Chemical Engineering major at UC Berkeley, Peggy's handmade jewelry design began with inspiration from the artisans on Berkeley's famous Telegraph Avenue. "I enjoy designing jewelry, making things that help women feel beautiful. When women feel beautiful, they feel powerful and have more confidence." Peggy's jewelry designs are deceptively simple, featuring artisan craftsmanship mixed with contemporary approaches to contrast, color, texture and composition.

She uses beads, gemstones, vintage findings, charms and chain in her work and tries whenever possible to source from US-based manufacturers. Her metals are 14k gold-filled, gold plated silver, sterling silver, fine silver, Bali silver and real karat gold. Among other things, Peggy wants to be a screenwriter, entomologist and pastry chef when she grows up. She lives in San Francisco, CA where she creates her handmade jewelry from her studio/apartment. She enjoys watching movies, watching "Top Chef", writing for her blog, and helping other small business owners.
