 Lauren Wolf's stunning sea inspired designs have been featured on the pages of Lucky, InStyle, Marie Claire, Vibe, Elle, W and in boutiques across the U.S. Lauren Wolf studied jewelry design in costal Mexico and currently works out of her studio in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. The influences of both environments are clear in her designs, especially in her castings of stingray skin in gold and silver. The stingray texture seen in her designs is done through the lost wax casting process. Lauren has taken a silicone mold of an actual stingray skin and has then worked with the waxes from this mold to sculpt each individual piece. Lauren explores this process in both the wax and metal forms.
The metal she most consistently works with are sterling silver and 14k green gold. Green gold is alloyed with zinc instead of copper to give it a lighter shine, which to the eye often looks green. Lauren's goal in design is to bring together nature in form and industry in medium; to create jewelry of contrast that both complements and commands attention.
