Review Home / Product Reviews Fall is my favorite season. This fall is filled with opulence and tactile sensuality. Fur, velvet, brocade, lace, tweed and cashmere accents are filling the editorial pages of fashion magazines everywhere. What a perfect time to review a hand knit stole by the Alison Beth Company. Alison Liebeskind designer and founder of Alison Beth Company based in New York City has a passion for designing, creating and painting rich silk textiles in her collection of hand manufactured scarves, hats, stoles, and shawls. Her preference for the luxurious feel of imported Italian wools, knits, and yarns, as well as the world's finest imported cashmeres is evident in her designs. The first thing I notice when I lifted the stole from the box was its incredible feel. Made of polyamid and polyester and lined in silk, the Alison Beth hand knit stole is much lighter and softer than faux fur, with a look and feel all its own. The Buttercup color is multi tonal. The base color is a platinum blonde peppered with opalescent threads. Accents of golden buttery striped ribbon ¼” wide and 1” long cover the stole. The stole is lined in gold silk with a print of bows and bouquets in pastel blue and pink. The stole I reviewed measures 6-1/2” wide at the narrowest part and 9-1/2” at the widest part and approximately 55 inches in length. It kept my shoulders warm and was comfortable and easy to wear. Each stole is made with a unique brooch, adding a touch of vintage and further setting this independent designer piece apart from the rest. The Alison Beth hand knit stole takes on a life of its own. It is worn by the leading lady in a modern day Hitchcock style thriller traveling from New York to Paris and everywhere inbetween. She is sexy, smart and mysterious and has a style to be envied. It’s worn by the leading lady in you. Alison Beth is a designer who is not afraid to break through fashion stereotypes and create something so uniquely hers it becomes more than an article of clothing but an investment in fashion history. A head turner, a conversation starter, a piece that creates memories to a pass down. The stole is available in Buttercup (shown here) and Brandon (slate/gray/black). Both colors are neutral enough to coordinate with just about any color and versatile enough to be dressed up or down. Cost $325. Available at AlisonBethCo.com. Delivered in 2-3 weeks.
