Pluey's Sugar Plum Rain Boots

The end of summer in New York has been a rainy one.  It's raining today, again.  I am known around town for my impractical shoe choices.  In fact, I've ruined many pairs of my favorite shoes in rainy and snowy weather.  The thought of wearing a pair of rubber boots never entered my mind.  That is until I got the opportunity to review a pair of Pluey's rain boots. 

Pluey's is an independent company that specializes in women's and children's rain boots.  They're not your typical yellow rubber ducky rain boots.  Fun, funky, stylish rain boots with names like names like Origami Me, Lotsa Dots, Go Fish, Puppy Love, Sublime, SugarPlum and exciting graphic designs to match.. 

My Pluey's Sugar Plum boots arrived in their signature tote.  A clear tote with the Pluey's logo and raindrop graphics.  What a great idea.  Carry your shoes in the tote and when you get to your destination, make a quick change and store your wet boots in the tote.   When my boots arrived it was raining out.  Lucky me!  I could review them in the very weather they were intended for.  I put on my Sugar Plum boots printed with striped lilac and purple flowers.  I ran through the front yard and around the lake by our house.  The boots fit true to size and kept my feet dry.  There is enough breathing room to allow for a thicker sock.

The boots are made from natural rubber and measure about 13" high and have a 1" heel.  They have sturdy rubber soles and are lined in cotton.  Adjustable straps accent each side and also allow you to tighten or loosen to fit around your calves.  My jeans fit into the boots nicely without bulk.  The cotton lining not only contributed to their comfort but made it easier to get my jeans into the boot.  

Pluey's believes you should "celebrate the rain" with the same enthusiasm you did as a child.  And with such brightly colored, comfy boots you can't help but stop for a splash.  Pluey's boots will look so cute with this fall's skinny pants, tights and sweater dresses and leggings.
