Minuta MM1 Messenger Bag by Zaumlab.comOur editors have been taking turns carrying the Minuta MM1.  A high tech, no nonsense style messenger bag by a forward thinking company called Zaum.  Zaum designs one of a kind (yes that's right, no mass productions here) messenger bags, purses, travel bags, mini purses and accessories like agendas, C.D. cases and belts.

Born in 2003, Zaum is a small creative laboratory that brings innovative ideas to the fashion world.  Inspired by graphic design, photography, fine arts and fashion, Zaum’s designing duo set out to create one of a kind, professionally crafted, handmade designs that combine form and function while taking fashion accessories to the next level. What's different about Zaum?  Their entire collection is made of vinyl.  The combination of unexpected materials with simple lines and bold colors make Zaum bags a welcomed alternative to the latest leather "it" bag.

You won't be at a loss for space, the Minuta MMI measures a roomy 14.5" x 3" x 12".  It's made of rich chocolate brown and light seafoam green vinyl.  The vinyl looks like leather and feels buttery soft.  The inside flap is lined in seafoarm green and closes with a magnetic snap.  The interior of the bag is lining in soft white cotton with a graphic print of light blue, pink, tan and brown retro squares. The underside of the strap and the outside of the two interior pockets are covered with a white glossy vinyl.  There is one small exterior zippered pocket on front, two interior pockets, 4”x5”, and 6.25”x5.25”. Shoulder strap adjusts from 28” to 52.5”  The bag has a beautifully sewn seam running off center between the brown and green colors.  For it's size, the Minuta MM1 is lightweight.

I found this bag was a little big for everyday use and it took some practice trying to get the top flap to fall back in place after opening it.  I also found if  the bag is not filled to capacity the softness of the vinyl causes it to bend around the contours of my body. For everyday use I would get a smaller size.  The MM1 version is great for carrying books and magazines.  It could be used a gym bag, even an overnight bag for a light packer.  Zaum messenger bags do come in a variety of sizes and styles to suit your needs.

The Minuta MMI sells for $150.  If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind bag that's clean, modern and makes a colorful statement, you'll find it at ZaumLab.com.

Style Envy gives the Minuta MMI - 4 Stars.
