Laura Su is the designer and owner of Prismera Design.  The word "Prismera" is a combination fo the words "prism" and "chimera."  

Laura considers herself a "hybrid of personalities."  Her jewelry designs really capture the many facets of Laura.  Laura is a graduate of the Rhode Island Academy of design where she studied Illustration.  While working in NYC as a production assistant in the fashion district, she frequented jewelry supply shops during her lunch break.  It was then that she discovered she had a talent for designing jewelry.

Laura has an artist's eye for combining form and the use of negative space, evident in her designs. 

The Reina earrings are part of Prismera's Fall 2006 collection.  These 14K gold filled antiqued gold oval shaped hoops frame handcut plum garnets.  The hoops are hollow and sculptural with lacelike detailing.  They both reflect and capture light adding tonal dimension. The oval shape of the hoop is balanced by a double loop of gold chain that dangles straight down the center.  Be careful when storing these earrings as the chains sometimes move out of place.  To prevent tangling, I recommend hanging the earrings on an upright holder or leaving them on an earring card. 

Earrings hang 1.75" from the ear.  Hoop measures 1" across widest part.  Chains dangle approximately 1/4" past the end of the hoop.
