Kristen McCloud Signature CollectionI had the opportunity of reviewing two pieces from the Kristen McCloud Jewelry Collection.   My interest in Kristen’s work came from loveliness of the designs themselves and further piqued after I read about her educational background.

Kristen, originally from Dallas, started her career with a degree in Biochemistry.  In 2004 she moved to Manhattan.    It was there that Kristen launched her first jewelry collection, created from her knowledge of science and her eye for beauty.   She is known for her ability to bring harmony to contrasting elements.   In less than two years, Kristen McCloud designs have been sought after by women across the globe.  Kristen McCloud's Jewelry has been featured in magazines such as: Real Simple, Marie Claire, OK Magazine, Seventeen and Cosmo Girl and adorned celebrities like Uma Thurman, Drew Barrymore, Princess Caroline of Monaco and Jessica Alba.

Kristen’s signature collection is handmade with tightly coiled 14k gold fill and sterling silver wire, adorned with semi-precious stones.  Many of her pieces come with the option of stone selection.

The Earrings:  Fourteen Karat gold-fill large lace hoops with a delicate drape of seven chains chain joined by a center spine and accented by three black onyx and smoky topaz stones.   The base of each earring is dripping with gems (about twenty per earring).

The earrings measure approximately 3” in length, from top gold bead to the tip of the center onyx stone.  They measure 1-1/2” across at the widest point.  I was surprised at how light they felt on, considering their size and amount of detail.  I especially like the way the chains fall, reminding me of windblown waves of sand.  I suggest storing these earrings upright on an earring holder because the center stones can tangle around the draping chains.  Earrings $210 (km-119) -  4 Stars.

The Necklace is made of 14K gold-fill chain with a gold fill wrapped circle pendant measuring  ¾ “ x ¾.”  The pendant is accented with about ten onyx and black topaz stones.  The slightly rough texture of the wrapped circle is balanced by the slick, shiny gemstones and delicate chain.  This necklace looks far more valuable than its cost.  The pendant floats beautifully in the center of the collarbone and is so sexy.  A look that is timeless and fresh.  Total pendant length 1-3/4”   Chain measures about fifteen inches.   Necklace  $145 (km-178) -  5 Stars
